About Twtxt App

An offline-first Twtxt / Yarn.social client that lives at twtxt.app. Install it to your home screen and your timeline, follows and drafts are yours โ€” cached on your device, readable on a plane, synced when you're back.

How it works
  • Your timeline renders from a local cache, so the app works fully offline
  • Feeds are fetched and parsed per the twtxt.dev specs โ€” including Twt Hash v1/v2, Subjects (threading), Mentions, Multiline and Metadata
  • Posts made offline queue locally and publish on the next refresh
  • Follow people by twtxt URL or user@domain (WebFinger)
  • Your data replicates through this site's sync service โ€” secrets never leave your device
Where your feed lives

Twtxt App is a client, not a silo โ€” connect one of three places your feed calls home:

  • Yarn pod โ€” post via any Yarn.social pod's API (e.g. twtxt.net)
  • GitHub โ€” append to a twtxt.txt in a repo, served by GitHub Pages or the raw URL
  • SFTP โ€” append to a twtxt.txt on your own server, served by any web server
Notes

In the browser, feeds are fetched client-side, so only CORS-enabled hosts (Yarn pods, GitHub Pages/raw) are reachable directly. Set a feed proxy pod in Settings to read any feed via a pod's /fetch-twts API. Credentials and tokens are kept in local-only, non-replicated storage on your device.
